Privacy Policy

This is the Daily Bunny's privacy policy, last updated May 2018. It outlines the kind of information the Daily Bunny collects from our visitors and how we use it.

  • If you sign up for our mailing list, we will collect your email address (and, should you choose to include it, your name). We only collect this information if you actively sign up and complete the subscription process; no one is added to the mailing list without explicit consent through the subscription process, which is always initiated, then confirmed by the user. If a user confirms a subscription, it is necessary for us to use the supplied information (that is, the email address) to deliver the email to the user. We only use this supplied information in ways the user would reasonably expect - that is, to send Daily Bunny posts by email. Every single email we send has an option to unsubscribe from the mailing list, as well as an option to update your subscription preferences. We use MailChimp for our mailing list services.
  • We have always had the option of anonymous commenting, though you have to enter a username to post a comment. However, it does not have to be your real name. Adding an email address or url is also an option but is never required. If you enter an email address it is not visible to the public.
  • Content submission is done voluntarily via email. Should you submit media, the Daily Bunny will have access to your email address and usually your name. We usually include a submitter's first name in posts with his or her submitted content, though a submitter may request otherwise.
  • We use Google Analytics to collect standard internet log information of visitor behavior patterns, like what posts our visitors like most and how many pages they visit. This information is not personally identifiable - we don't even have your IP address and, in fact, have enabled IP masking. We can glean very general location information from visitors, however. For example, we can tell someone is visiting the site from, say, Stuttgart, but have no way of pinpointing what neighborhood the user is in or who the user could possibly be. In fact, we will never try to find out who you are - we're not psychos.
  • We use cookies to optimally deliver the Daily Bunny to you. We use them for functional purposes (to make sure the site works properly), as well as for analytical and performance purposes (to get general, nonidentifiable information as to how visitors interact with the site). We may also use them to personalize content and serve targeted advertisements. Cookies cannot be used to identify you. We will advise you of our cookie policy every 30 days at minimum. You can change the cookie settings in your browser if you want to decline the use of cookies, though it may affect the performance of the site. [Chrome/Firefox/Safari/Opera/Edge/Explorer]
  • If there are ads on the site, those advertisers may also serve you cookies and they may use non-personally identifiable information, like what browser you use and what ads you've clicked. The Daily Bunny does not have control over those cookies or such data collection.

The Daily Bunny does not sell or give away your information to anyone. Should we enter into a contract with an advertiser we may provide such general visitor information as described above, but never anything personally identifiable - that means no email addresses or names or anything else that could identify you as you.

This privacy policy may be updated from time to time; check back as often as you like.
