I Hope Everyone Across the Rainbow Bridge Is Prepared for All This Attitude

Our sweet little Alfie has hopped over the rainbow bridge. We are devastated. He was his normal happy self, doing binkies and zoomies and competing with Mochi for a treat in the morning. By evening, he was not acting himself. We brought him to the emergency vet where they found him to have serious GI stasis. Despite all their efforts, he passed away at midnight. It was truly shocking how fast it all happened and what could have caused it. 

We don't know how old he was.  According to the rescue, he would've been about 12 now, but he seemed much younger. 

Thankfully my husband had the presence of mind to suggest we bring Mochi in to see him, in hopes she'd better understand his absence.

She is doing remarkably well, eating normally, playing with all her new toys, doing lots of zoomies and binkies, and is much more interested in her humans.  Watching her blossom has been a real bright spot during this dark time.
