Our sweet little Dori left us [this week].

He joined our family in 2017 and had as good a life as I could give him. He was cared for through disease, infection and operations.

But today was his day to say goodbye.

Some people see companion animals as pets - to me, they are a part of my family, and sometimes the only family I have had that cared for me.

To lose one, even after such a short time, is as devastating as losing a human member of your circle.

The tears are real, the grief is real, and the loss is real.

He is being cremated and will join those that have crossed the bridge before him.

I miss him already
