Bunny Relaxes on the Porch in the Crisp Fall Air
Thanks, Shannon, Cathryn, and bunny Clover! Shannon writes:
This is our bunny Clover, lounging with us on the front porch and enjoying a beautiful fall afternoon. My wife and I found Clover three years ago about a half mile from our house while we were out running. A neighbor had started seeing her about a month after Easter that year; we suspect Clover was an Easter gift that got to be "too much work" and was simply released. The neighbor reported seeing Clover around for weeks--how a white domestic rabbit survived for weeks in a neighborhood with coyotes, hawks, and owls, we'll never know. But we took her in that day, got her checked up at the vet (she was fine other than needing a few ticks removed), and officially adopted her! Since then, she has been a source of complete and total joy in our lives. She's our sassy little extrovert: she loves playing with little children and even toddlers (and is incredibly patient and gentle with them), always shows off for guests at our house, and wanted to be best friends with our senior tabby (who sadly passed this last June). We never imagined ourselves bunny owners, and now we can't imagine life without Clover.
